About me and the Blog

Hi there. I’m Tim, a true East Frisian. In my blog, I explore topics that continuously spark my enthusiasm—primarily Linux and free software, artificial intelligence, and of course software quality. This blog isn’t about perfectly polished content or meticulously planned themes. This site is a living lab—a space for unfinished ideas, lessons learned, and the many adventures that arise when you’re curious enough to follow a thought all the way to its depths.

It’s personal, sometimes chaotic, but always filled with passion: for learning, experimenting, and sharing. Maybe you’ll find some inspiration here, or perhaps you’ll just enjoy the detours I take? Either way, I’m glad you’re here! If you want to stay up to date, feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed.

A younger version of me

From the day a Schneider CPC 464 entered my parents’ home, my professional path was set. While I had previously dreamed of becoming a chef or an elevator operator, from that moment on, my future was clearly going to involve computers.

I took my first steps into the professional world as a software developer, writing components for output management systems used by major clients operating print and packaging centers. I moved to Switzerland and worked as an IT & Security Linux Administrator, where my responsibilities included minimizing critical IT risks to ensure continuous operation of a mail center. Eventually, I returned home, where I’ve worked ever since as a software tester for a software vendor serving critical infrastructures in the energy sector, ensuring the necessary software quality so that the lights never go out anywhere.
